The Shrine of the Three Kings in Cologne Cathedral is a magnet for all visitors to the metropolis on the Rhine. An equally intriguing yet lesser-known sacred building, the Romanesque Basilica of St. Ursula, is just a few minutes’ walking distance from the cathedral. Its treasure chamber hoards an impressive and at the same time gruesome witness to the history of Cologne. The Golden Chamber displays walls covered in relics and human bones arranged in mosaics, stretching right up to the ceiling vault.
